2 HP Band Saw Servo Motor Upgrade Kit. Best suited to convert Craftsman 14 wood band saw to both wood and metal capability's. Now comes with strait shaft and anodized belt drive. Images coming soon. Ask if you need to see them before you order. 2 HP Servo Motor Upgrade for Craftsman 14" wood only band saws and several other brands that are actually the same saw. Our system replaces the original induction motor because it runs at a fixed 1,700 RPM and it destroys metal blades. This is because it only runs at 1,700 feet or 3,000 feet per minuet and metal blades run at 250 to 500 feet per minuet. When replaced/upgraded to our servo motor the the blade speed is variable between 200 feet per minuet and 2,600 FPM. Now it will cut steel and aluminum as thick as 8" . Our 2 HP servo motor is a direct fit bolt on system. It will fit the saw seen in above images and several other brands that are the same actual band saw. You must verify fit before you order: Look at above images to verify fit. Make sure the bolt circle measures the same. Make sure the belt drive is also a match. If your saw is different or you are unsure, please contact us first. Motor  programming  + spindle speeds and Reverse: The motor speed can be programmed to operate in any range chosen by the user. Between 300 and 3,500 RPM's. The full range of speed (RPM's) can also be controlled with just the speed control knob. Speed control programming only requires a few easy steps. Reverse is simple, just hold the yellow button for a few seconds. Programming includes the ability to set bottom and top RPM range separately. In other words you can program the system to run the spindle at any speed or range of speeds you choose (see below). Slowest speed achievable: Motor 200 RPM. (Below 300 is not recommended) . Highest speed: 3,500 RPM . (Can be programmed to reach 5,000 RPM. This is seriously not recommended. It is also dangerous as in parts could fly across the room causing serious bodily injury even death.) Setting above 3,500 RPM also voids warranty . Soft start is programmable and will be set as soft as possible when you receive this motor. This program is very effective in reducing drive belt wear etc. Braking strength is also programmable and will be set as low as possible. Self diagnostics with fault code chart. Safe turn on system where the speed control knob must be in the full counter clockwise (stop) position when turned on. When turned on the self diagnostic system checks for faults and will not allow the motor to turn on until the speed control knob is turned all the way to stop first. Control unit has the ability to stop the motor or what ever it is turning in 2 different locations with external hall effect sensors not included. Cannot be programmed to communicate with any CNC controller at this time. Use at your own risk. Our liability is limited to the purchase price of this item. We will accept a return for only 15 days from the time you receive it but: If you buy it just to see if it fits and it does not, you will pay shipping both ways. Limited 90 day parts warranty. Parts returned will be inspected for unique identification mark and or abuse. If found to be abuse or missing the identity mark, no warranty exchange part will be provided and buyer will be required to pay shipping to get their parts back. Warranty exchange parts may or may not be new but instead refurbished or demos that I have from previous builds. Warranty starts on the day eBay records the system as paid and not the date the item is actually received .
Servo Motor. - I will exchange a defective servo motor for up to 90 days. Buyer must return the motor + the
control unit + the speed control switch for inspection and testing. Additionally original packaging such as
Styrofoam package inserts must be used to return these parts.
Computer control unit. - I will exchange a defective control unit PCB for up to 90 days.
Buyer must contact seller and discuss failure + fault codes. Seller will provide possible fix versus returning for
warranty repair. After warranty support: There is nothing worse then having an expensive item break 2 days after the warranty expires. Please contact me As long as there is no abuse, I will offer a solution. This often includes parts at cost and free installation. That is as long as you communicate and pay shipping both ways. Yes, I keep control boards in stock for this reason. I also keep motors, belts and every part used to build these in stock. Just contact me and we will have you up and running within days, not 6 months waiting for parts from China. Ask lots of questions before ordering: Do not worry about missing this item and thus buying it and than changing your mind after the fact. If you miss it, I will build more soon.
